Fair prices use proportional margin removal: each implied probability is divided by the market total.

How no-vig odds work

At 1.91 on both sides, each price implies 52.36%. The total is 104.71%, including a 4.71% overround. Removing that margin gives each side a 50% probability and fair decimal odds of 2.00.

How do you calculate no-vig odds?

Convert every price to decimal odds, then calculate implied probability = 1 / decimal odds. Add the probabilities together and divide each one by that total. Convert each resulting probability back to fair odds.

For example, −150 and +130 imply 60% and 43.48%. After normalization, the fair probabilities are 57.98% and 42.02%, with fair American prices of approximately −138 and +138.

What is vig in sports betting?

Vig, or juice, is the sportsbook’s built-in margin. This calculator shows overround: the total implied probability minus 100%. That differs from theoretical hold, calculated as 1 − 1 / total implied probability when probabilities are expressed as decimals.

Which markets can I use?

Use two outcomes for moneylines, point spreads, game totals and player props. Choose three outcomes for a soccer home/draw/away market or a regulation-time moneyline with a draw. Include every possible outcome; for markets with pushes, the two-way result is conditional on no push.

Are no-vig odds the true probability?

They estimate fair probabilities from the prices you enter, using proportional margin removal. The result reflects that market’s pricing rather than an independent prediction.

How can I use fair odds to check value?

Compare your fair probability with another sportsbook’s price using the expected value calculator. WagerWise’s Positive EV finder brings sportsbook price comparisons and value calculations together.
